The Birthday Prank!

For those that don't know, I am an engineer by day, working for a chip manufacturing company in Austin, TX. September 24th is my birthday and this year, my birthday fell on a Sunday. I decided to reward myself with a 4-day long weekend. So, here I am, walking into the the office after a great weekend break. I round the corned into the area where my little cube is and... what I see causes my jaw to open wide in utter horror!

My office had been completely birthday sabotaged! The outer walls were covered in aluminum foil and there was this huge structure that looked like the top prism of a camera with the Nikon logo on it. The doorway had been partially sealed up to resemble a lens. But wait... there's more!

Everything - my computer monitor, keyboard, desk pictures, books, sticky pads, business cards, chairs coffee mug ...even my reserve stash of microwave popcorn - had been wrapped in foil! The top of my cube was covered in foil sealing off all the light, but my desk lamp was left on. Then, they filled all the available space with balloons.

After getting over the shock and surprise, I made a hole for myself to get in, but I couldn't stay in there long - the inside was hot from all the heat being reflected around without a way to escape (sitting inside only added body heat and after a short while, you felt like a baked potato).

It took me all morning to clean up enough of the mess to start working again... I know the perpetrators... and they have been warned - I know their birthdays and revenge will be swift!
