In June 2005, Peter Turner sat down with his friend, Chuck Schmitz, to discuss forming a new business partnership. Peter wanted to expand his existing photography business to include portraiture, an area that Chuck was already quite familiar with. Peter suggested that the two of them bridge their individual photography businesses and focus on serving the hot local music scene. Creating press-kits and doing promotional packages for musicians was a great way to merge their talents and give them both reasons to shoot more of the stylized images they admired in other photographer's work.
Chuck listened to Peter's idea and refined the concept. Chuck added web development and web mastering services, as well as print material into the business scope. Chuck also proposed expanding the original target customer group to include more than just performing artists; there were many other businesses and individuals that could benefit from a promotional service.
At a quiet corner table, in the Satellite Cafe (over way too many beers), Chuck and Peter sketched out a business plan...
That night, LightWurx Media was born...
